Ram, Sakshi get steamy again

Ram Kapoor anmd Sakshi Tanwar's consummation scene in Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, which lasted for almost 30 minutes — replete with a lip-lock had become the talk of the town. As the scene went viral, actors Ram Kapoor and Sakshi Tanwar drew flak for it. But now, it seems another love-making scene — to boost Television Rating Points (TRPs) of the show — will be aired. Only this time around, it will be a toned-down version and no, there will be no lip-lock. A few subtle hints will make it evident that the couple has made love. Says Ram, "The scene doesn't really have to be bold; it's more about emotional intimacy. This scene has a much deeper meaning and reflects how two people are emotionally connected. The first scene was bold, because the couple was consummating their marriage after so many months."

I am Indian, father fought for freedom, Shah Rukh Khan says

Shah Rukh Khan on Tuesday sought to clear the air over his article in an Indian magazine, saying he had written nothing to indicate he felt unsafe in India. "Being an Indian and my parents' child is an unconditional accepted truth of my life and I am very proud of both... Nowhere does the article state or imply directly or indirectly that I feel unsafe... troubled or disturbed in India," Khan said, even as Indian ministers hit back at Pakistani interior minister Rehman Malik for suggesting that India provide security to the actor.

Information & broadcasting minister Manish Tewari said all citizens of India were treated equally and asked Malik to redirect his worries to the condition of minorities in Pakistan. The political class in India, cutting across party lines, reacted sharply to Malik's "meddling in India's internal affairs".

In the first-person account, Khan, while recalling his experiences as a Muslim in a post-9/11 world, spoke of how he had become an inadvertent object of political leaders who "choose to make him a symbol of all that they think is wrong and unpatriotic about Muslims in India".

Army rejects calls to raise new units based on caste or religion

NEW DELHI: The Army has once again strongly rejected calls for raising new "single-class" units like the Gujarat, Kalinga, Dalit, Ahir, Paswan or Tribal regiments as well as attempts to tinker with its "time-tested" regimental system.

"The policy since Independence is not to raise any new regiment on the basis of a particular class, creed, community, religion or region but to have a force in which all Indians have representation. This is the well-defined position of both the defence ministry and Army," said a senior official.

Added a top general, "Politics should not be played with the apolitical armed forces. The Army is an inclusive, secular force, open to all. It's for that reason the force had even opposed the religious headcount proposed by the Sachar Committee in 2005-06."

MOVIE REVIEW - AKAASH VANI

Like PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA, AKAASHVANI also has a bond with realism. It's about the present times. It communicates the contemporary lingo. Yet, it has the old world charisma that still makes you go weak in your knees. It has shades of everything, from fidelity and commitment to resentment and mistrust to anguish and betrayal. Handled most efficiently, with several authoritative moments, AKAASHVANI is, without doubt, a delicate love story that triumphs. With PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA, Luv Ranjan demonstrated he's a commendable storyteller. With AKAASHVANI, he only seals it furthermore! On the whole, AKAASHVANI appeals for the characters that Luv Ranjan has created as well as the buoyancy and gusto with which the principal actors bring alive the characters on screen. The movie contains just the right blend of sparkle and spice and is definitely worthy of a watch. Go for it!

MOVIE REVIEW - RACE 2

Everyone is busy deceiving everyone else in this paper caper, which probably looked tempting in the writing but comes across on screen as a monstrous masquerade of hedonistic hijinx filmed at exotic locales where men and women play for high stakes, live dangerously and die foolishly. They deserve it.

Abbas-Mustan's love for depicting the high life is by now as well-known as David Dhawan's penchant for guffaws. Everyone in an Abbas-Mustan caper takes his or her life at the race course seriously when in fact the characters are all an extended joke. They are comicbook cut-outs pasted on to the big wide screen with all their exaggerations blown out of proportion.

It's hard to pinpoint where the leakage in this latest Abbas-Mustan adventure-caper begins to seep septically into the plot. But you know there is something serious amiss in the plot when one of the protagonists, Saif Ali Khan deadpans: "Revenge is best served cold."

HONEY SINGH in DIE HARD 5

If notoriety is a stepping-stone to stardom, then the recent controversies surrounding some of his songs have taken rapper Honey Singh to another level of popularity. If things will work out, he may end up singing for Hollywood film Bruce Willis starrer Die hard 5.

The singer recently courted controversies for his songs allegedly based on sexual themes.

Honey Singh sang hit songs last year in the films Cocktail and Khiladi 786. He is now in the process of cracking deals for at least seven new Bollywood projects for topnotch filmmakers including Sajid Nadiadwala and Anurag Kashyap. But the topping on the controversial cake is the Hollywood deal likely to be cracked with the producers of Diehard 5, the latest instalment of the franchise.

Apparently, Honey Singh is game for his first international film-song except for the time-factor. "They need the song in a week. I take at least three weeks to write and compose a song. If it's my first international song and that too for a franchise as well-known as Diehard, I've to make sure it's an effort worth listening to," said Honey Singh.

Pakistan's Latest Political Crisis: Court Orders Arrest Of Prime Minister

The BBC writes that the court ordered the arrest of Ashraf and 15 others on corruption charges. Ashraf, the BBC adds, denies allegations that he accepted bribes "when approving power generation projects as minister for water and power in 2010." Appeals may delay any move to arrest him.

Ashraf has only been prime minister since mid-2012. He replaced Yousuf Reza Gilani, who was ousted from office by the court because he refused to pursue a corruption investigation into President Asif Ali Zardari.

All this happens as Pakistan prepared for elections in May. The Washington Post writes that "some observers said the [arrest] order, if implemented, could derail elections. ... They speculated that Pakistan's powerful military leadership could establish a caretaker government and then call for a delay in choosing which political party would lead Pakistan for the next five years."

Pak FM Hina Rabbani Khar says India is 'war-mongering', maintains no beheading took place

WASHINGTON: Pakistan's foreign minister Hina Rabbani Khar went on a strident diplomatic offensive in the US on Tuesday, accusing India of "war-mongering" and embarking on a "narrative of hostility," while presenting her country as a paragon of peace and amity in the context of border tensions between the two countries.

"I thought war-mongering was a thing of yesteryears and we had put it behind us," the foreign minister of a country that is recognized as having initiated three wars against India said at an Asia Society talk, artfully glossing over her country's well-chronicled record of hostilities towards India to change the status-quo. Pakistan, she said, was "deeply disappointed" with statements coming from the highest levels of the Indian government, but it would not give up on its "deep abiding commitment to pursue peace with India."

She adds, “While there’s not a single moment that will make you yawn, the songs do – three till interval. Pankaj Kapur steals your heart as a cute bewda, Imran is doing great as the rustic man Friday and Anushka behaves her usual chirpy self. But while these characters are playing their roles well, it’s the daaru ki botal that’s the game changer in the movie. How will the game change? Will the bewda Mandola turn into a teetotaler? “Being ruled by Number 5 (Mercury), Deepika is upright frank, honest, talkative, communicative and adamant in her decisions. Due to the influence of ‘shani’, she hadto work really hard to achieve what she has done, and hence proud of the fact that she has made it on her own terms at such a young age. Being also ruled by Number 3,ensures that she is very practical as far as money is concerned and would work only her terms. No wonder she is one of the most highly paid actresses around, be it for films, endorsements, fashion shows etc.” explains Bhavikk further.
