Pak Army continues to deny its role in Indian soldiers' killing near LoC
Even as the Indian soldiers' killing by Pakistani troops in Jammu and Kashmir created a massive uproar in the country, the Pakistan Army remained in a denial mode over the incident, a leading Pakistani media group reported on Wednesday.
According to the Dawn News report, Pak ArmyĆ¢s director general military operations (DGMO) contacted his Indian counterpart on Wednesday and denied the latter's claim that Pakistani troops killed two soldiers in a cross-border attack.
"Indian authorities were informed that Pakistan has carried out ground verification and checked and found nothing of this sort happened as being alleged by India," Dawn News quoted a military official as saying.
The Pakistan Army had on Tuesday rejected the Indian charge that it had launched the "unprovoked" attack across the Line of Control (LoC) and killed two Indian soldiers. "We deny the Indian allegation of unprovoked firing," a military spokesman had said in a brief reaction.
